I’m Medusa

I’m Medusa
Like you I too wonder at my creation
with my face framed with ringlets of snakes
and my looks turning one to stone.
I am mesmerizing
Sharp and strong.
Striking and uncompromisingly, awful!
Like you, I too want to want to rid myself of facial hair,
Straighten my gnashing sharp teeth
learn the art of contouring
to give definition to my round face.
practice extending the eyeliner into the inner corner to
take attention away from my wide set eyes.
Like you, I too want an appointment with a hair stylist.
The one who can charm the snakes into sleeping while she lathers my hair.
Trimming them would definitely be a challenge
but if the snakes are charmed and my eyes are shut,
some tresses could be cut off.
Like you, I am a female.
Cryptic, mysterious, and with boundless energy.
Notorious and noteworthy.
I am a female – inspirational!
