The Moth and the Flame

Do not be a moth to my flame
Do not lean towards my light
I persuade you to train your mind
And retract your flight
Hold you attraction, change your course
My light is your trap
Are you that full of remorse?
You’ll come close to me and flap?
I am not on a mission to be your savior
Neither will I give you space in my darkest center
So stop veering this way and that
And work on this agitated behavior.
Do not be a moth to my flame
I am but a fleeting glow
Forever in fear of wind and snow.
Do not be a moth to my flame
Darkness abounds at my core
My glare is not for you
You, I don’t adore.
